The tutorial walks you through phase one - getting set up with your local weather, Google calendars, and the like. Since the Magic Mirror² project is open source, there's a whole slew of third party modules you can add in and customize to make your mirror exactly what you want it to be. If you end up writing your own modules, the Magic Mirror² Forums are full of super helpful folks to get you on your way.

For my own Magic Mirror, I added some basic CSS formatting for the calendars, as well as a safe boot/shutdown button per Bobby's tutorial here:
