Teensy Environmental Changes

Hello and welcome back to another Friday Product Post. This week, we have three new products to show off, one of which - the Teensy 4.1 - was released on Monday. We'll take a closer look at it today; Rob has put a video together to help explain some of the new features.

We also have a Qwiic BME680 Environmental Sensor - this was a SparkX product but is now in full production in SparkFun red! To finish out the week we are now selling the vertical Qwiic Connector, so you'll have this version and the existing horizontal version to choose from.

We know the school year is starting to wrap up, but learning - and having fun doing it - doesn’t have to stop there! Check out the newest products available in our Spring Sale, which runs through May 22. We’ve also added some books that will help maximize materials you already have on hand!

Now, let's take a closer look at our new products for the week!

A breath of fresh air!
SparkFun Environmental Sensor Breakout - BME680 (Qwiic)

SparkFun Environmental Sensor Breakout - BME680 (Qwiic)

SEN-16466
$18.95

The SparkFun BME680 Environmental Sensor is a breakout that combines a gas sensor with temperature, humidity and barometric pressure sensing for a complete environmental sensor in a single package. The gas sensor on the BME680 can detect a wide variety of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to monitor indoor air quality. Combine that with precise temperature, humidity and barometric pressure, and the BME680 can work as a completely standalone environmental sensor - all in a 1x1-inch breakout!

It's Teensy-er, tinier and...four-y-er
Teensy 4.1

Teensy 4.1

DEV-16771
$26.95

The Teensy 4.1 is the newest iteration of the astoundingly popular development platform that features an ARM Cortex-M7 processor at 600MHz, with a NXP iMXRT1062 chip, four times larger flash memory than the 4.0, and two new locations to add more memory. The Teensy 4.1 is the same size and shape as the Teensy 3.6 (2.4 in by 0.7 in), and provides greater I/O capability, including an ethernet PHY, SD card socket and USB host port.

Qwiic JST Connector - SMD 4-Pin (Vertical)

Qwiic JST Connector - SMD 4-Pin (Vertical)

PRT-16766
$0.50

Here is a tiny, 4-pin Qwiic 1mm JST connector. This allows you to connect your cable vertically, which is great for tight spaces. This connector is used on all of our Qwiic-based boards, and can be used to create your own I2C-based device compatible with the Qwiic system.

That's it for this week! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made!

Never miss a new product!
