According to WSTS, Q1 2020 worldwide semiconductor revenue reached US$104.6 billion, a year-to-year (YoY) growth of 4.5% and down 3.6% on-quarter. Sales quantity reached 224.0 billion ICs, a 2.1% decrease on-year and down 5.5% on-quarter. ASP was $0.467, a 9.2% rise on-year and up 2.0% on-quarter.
Semiconductor revenue in the US reached $22.1 billion in Q1 2020, a 21.8% increase on-year and down 2.1 % on-quarter. Revenue in Japan reached $8.6 billion, an 1.0% increase on-year and down 5.6% on-quarter. Revenue in Europe reached $10.2 billion, an 1.1% drop on-year and up 5.7% on-quarter. Revenue in Asia reached $63.6 billion, a 4.5% growth on-year and down 5.2% on-quarter; among them, revenue in China reached $34.6 billion, a 4.5% rise on-year and down 9.8% on-quarter.
The TSIA survey showed that Q1 2020 Taiwan IC revenue as a whole (including design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) totaled $23.4 billion (4.0% decline on-quarter and up 28.3% on-year), with $5.6 billion in design (7.7% drop on-quarter and up 18.1% on-year), $13.6 billion in manufacturing (1.6% decline on-quarter and up 36.6% on-year; Foundry $12.3 billion (1.7% decline on-quarter and up 39.0% on-year); Memory and other manufacturing products $1.3 billion (1.2% drop on-quarter and up 18% on-year), $2.9 billion in packaging (7.3% decrease on-quarter and up 18.9% on-year), and $1.3 billion in testing (4.7% decrease on-quarter and up 18.1% on-year).
Taiwan IC revenue in 2020 is expected to reach $91.0 billion (5.5% increase from 2019), with $23.4 billion in design (4.3% increase), $51.1 billion in manufacturing (7.3% increase; Foundry $46.4 billion, up 9.3%; Memory and other manufacturing products $4.7 billion (down 9.6%), $11.4 billion in packaging (1.6% increase), and $5.1 billion in testing (up 2.1%).
